Assembly popped up on Catherine Hill in Frome, Somerset at the start of December 2010. Having worked in retail – both high street and independent – for a number of years, owner Anthony decided to step out on his own.

Assembly offers a handpicked selection of clothing and accessories that champion British design, heritage, and manufacturing alongside a few classic pieces from the near continent.

Products are picked not just for their aesthetic but also their story – provenance and a relationship with the maker are key.

 "I wanted to open a shop providing something that I felt was missing after my relocation to the west. One that promoted home grown design and manufacturing – things I had come to love and appreciate through my studies in fashion design and my career in the industry"
